HP Officejet Pro 8620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

All of a sudden my 8620 printer is going offline and not scanning using the printer screen.  I use the printer wirelessly and the solution (according to HP) was to download the latest drivers.  After numerous tries, it just won't do it.  So I bought a USB cable A to B and all features on the aforementioned printer work when plugged in to my computer. So I tried to download the latest driver and It also said it had been unsuccessful. although I now have a "Printer" called HP Officejet Pro 8620 USB and a "Network" printer called Scan Only -HP Officejet Pro (8620) NETWORK - DO NOT DELETE.  I have no idea where that came from because it was always the HP Officejet Pro 8620 that gave me complete functionality wirelessly. The latter works wirelessly in that I can print to it.  But it won't do a scan using the feed in tray, but will scan if you put a document on the glass - but only one page per document!

I have tried uninstalling the printer drivers, but get the following message.  And if I just try to upgrade to the full feature driver, I get a message saying it was unsuccessful.

HP Officejet Pro 8620 Basic Device Software

Call to DriverPackage Uninstall returned error 5 for package

‘C:/WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\hpwia_oj8620.inf_amd64_d7308d34eee15b34\hpwia_0j8620.inf’:

A caller of DriverPackageInstall must be a member of the Administrators group to install a driver package.

I want the full wireless functionality back I had before something went screwy.  I didn't change anything - it just happened.  Although I did connect to the NBN.....

Help, somebody, please.  I've spent days trying every solution HP has "given" me.  Online.

Have you tried using a different browser?

Turn off the security software and then try and make sure your internet service is up and running

I have tried a different browser and turned off security software.  Still get the 404 error message.
