Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have new printer 9120e series.  I have downloaded hp smart.  I can only add the printer to my pc using hp smart.  hp smart refuses to add it.  I can get to the point where I can input the device PIN and hit submit, buit then the screen goes blank (I just get a white screen which stays white forever).  O/S is Windows 11. Any ideas? 

I have seen comments online sayin that the printer can be difficult to get going, but I'm reasonably IT competent and this just seems ridiculous.

Don't use HP smart, install full drivers
