HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Wide Format All-in-One Printer

The scanner glass (flatbed) supports 1200 DPI scan, but the resolution of the Scan to Network Folder feature is limited to 600 DPI.

Are you scanning through the ADF for the scan to network folder? If yes, that is the reason.  Resolution through the ADF is restricted due to the difficulty in providing an accurate scan at high resolutions. Keep in mind that the ADF works by moving the paper over the scan head, and the feeders are just not that accurate.

> Are you scanning through the ADF for the scan to network folder?

No. The screenshot provided is taken from the EWS (Embedded Web Server, Web UI of the printer) - Scan - Scan to Network Folder settings page. It has nothing to do with ADF, as there is no option to choose the default document source (from flatbed and ADF).

Have you tried to use custom settings during the actual scan, using the flatbed? If yes and you still cannot change it, my feeling is that they have limited it by assuming people always use the ADF.

Yes, even I put the document on the flatbed first, then entered the scan dialogue, in its actual setting, the maximum DPI provided is still 600 DPI for the Scan to Network Folder feature.

I think so and I hate this --- the vendor should provide all available options for professional users. This is an OfficeJet Pro model. By the way the experience with ADF is not satisfactory.
