HP DeskJet 3638 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I looked for HP ink 302 in U.S. because I brought my DeskJet 3638 from the Netherlands, but I was not able to find HP ink 302 in the HP's web shop in U.S.

Question #1: It seems HP ink 63 is the compatible ink with HP ink 302 in U.S. Is this understanding correct?

Question #2: There were several conversations regarding a reginal reset of printers which were brought a HP printer from original region to other country. Does my DeskJet 3638 is needed to do a reginal reset to use the compatible ink in U.S.?

It would be appreciated if someone can answer to my questions above.

Kind regards,

Hi @Takashi-s

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you move to a different country we need to perform a regional reset in order to make the printer work in the new region. I will surely help you with the Regional reset.

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.

3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it to.

4. Make sure HP Smart App is installed too.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Rachel571,

Thank you for letting me know the steps to do the Regional Reset.

I downloaded the drivers and software highlighted by yellow in the image below from the web site of HP Deskjet 3630 series and installed them on my computer.

Also, I installed again the latest HP Smart App on my computer.

I have the USB cable to connet between the computer and Deskjet 3638.

But, I have only the empty ink cartridge which I bought at the previous resion (the Netherlands). In case I need to have the workable ink cartridge to do the Resional Reset, I have to buy an ink cartidge in U.S. If so, could you adivise me what ink cartridge is compatible for DeskJet3638?

Kind regards,

3.) Clicking ink levels in HP Smart

Hold down the CTRL and SHIFT keys (Cmd + Space in MAC) and then right-click on the empty area to the right of the ink levels.
