Hi! I am locked out of my printer because of an admin lock, I really don't know how I did this.

It happened earlier, when I was trying to set up scan to computer on it. I can scan from my computer on all the machines, except my printer, so while trying to set this up, somehow I messed up and put a lock on it. Waiting for replies to the original post I have made.... i've made it worse and can't even use an ethernet cord to use my printer. - someone please help me before I somehow ruin a good printer for good. very much appreciated.

EDIT: I fixed it to where I can actually use the printer, don't ask me how because honestly, I have no clue; but now, some things are locked and I don't know how to get them unlocked, if anyone could help with that, that would be greatly appreciated. Things like: Power management, restore network defaults, etc.

Thanks!

@syd0715,

You need to perform a semi-full reset to fix the problem. However, as the steps to perform a semi-full reset is confidential and dedicated to your printer. I will be sending you a private message please watch your inbox for more information.

@syd0715,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I recommend you follow the below steps to restore the factory defaults on the printer and check if it helps.

1. From the printer control panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup.

2. Touch Tools.

3. Touch Restore Factory Defaults, and then touch Yes. A message appears stating that the printer defaults have been restored.

4. Touch OK.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

I did that, which resulted in being able to connect to the internet again. But the things I mentioned above are still locked under admin. Should I try again?

I am experiencing the same issue- I have performed the hard reset on my DesignJet printer, but am unable to connect to the network wirelessly. There is an admin lock on several areas.

Thanks,

Amanda

your answer doesn't work b/c all of the functions are locked, so I can't restore the default settings, nor use any other function.  Please help!
