HP Envy 5544
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just moved over to a different laptop (ASUS Viviobook 17 I7 8th Gen) from an HP Envy 360 laptop.

I downloaded the correct printer driver / software for my HP Envy 5544 printer from the HP website and when I installed the software I do not see the option to print in colour or to select the photo tray in the printer. This thereby renders my printer pretty useless from my perspective.

Having looked at various threads on the internet related to similar issues, I have worked through a number of potential solutions but none of them have worked. I have tried a number of uninstalls / register clears / reboots and I have now reached the end of my tether.

Could someone provide some assistance please as I am at a loss as to what to do.

I have the driver software installed on another laptop (another HP Envy) and it works ok .... utterly baffling. The only thing I can think of is that something is missing from the Windows install on the laptop which is causing the driver to act strangely.

Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks

D

@DSF71 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the Photo tray and color print options missing.

In that case, I would suggets you check for the windows update on your laptop and then try to install the drivers.

Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Please perform the Clean reinstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers

1.       In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.       Select your HP Printer

3.       Select Uninstall

4.       In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.       In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.       Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.       Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.       Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.       Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.   Select Ok

11.   Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.   Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Click here to download theHP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
