I accidentally deleted "HP Officejet Pro 6970 Help" from Control Panel. How can I restore HELP or only download HELP from the internet? I hope I won't have to download all from the disk again. Thank you.

See if it is in your Recycle bin and restore it.

@Delltaqueen

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

I was busy typing away and your question now shows an answer... I will just shove my "additions" in after the fact.

@sabretooth04 is correct.

"Deleted" files end up in the Trash Bin / Recycle Bin -- open the bin, find the file, right-click and "Restore".

"Deleted" shortcuts, those icons found on your Desktop, also end up in the Trash Bin when they are removed.  Shortcuts are links to the actual files -- shortcuts (like files in the Trash / Recycle bin) can be clicked and "Restored" to their original location on the Desktop.  Since shortcuts are just links, putting them back on the Desktop restores your ability to use the shortcut to access the file / program.

"Uninstalled" programs and software (Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features) are removed when uninstalled -- while they may still "exist" somewhere on the computer, uninstalled programs are not recoverable by clicking and moving the file back into its original folder.

Files, programs, applications cannot be removed from the Control Panel (at least not easily; you would know if you managed to remove an application from the Panel itself) -- listed applications and software in the panel are hardwired to stay in the Control Panel.

So, how you get back the file depends on what you did to it.

Before you make changes, create a Restore Point:

Stop all programs:  Browsers, games, Applications, etc.

Control Panel > icon view > System > System Protection

Click (Highlight) your main disk (C) > Select Create a Restore Point

If you do need to reinstall the software -- and you might be able to "custom" install the bits you want, download the latest Full Feature Software from the printer's website support page.

When you start the installation, look for a "choose what to install" or "custom installation" >  If you can do so, just select the Help file(s).

Will installing "part of the software" work?  Unknown.  I usually just install the whole printer software package if I manage to destroy parts of it.  Smiling.

Restart the computer and log in if you do (re)install the software.

Thanks to both of you.  I thought about recycle bin, but it is empty. I also Googled the subject and did not get info needed.

Had not thought about system restore; will try that. If that doesn't work will try "custom install."

Thanks again.
