Hi @jschles9

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

To add a second Mac computer to your HP Instant Ink printer, you'll need to set up the printer on the new Mac and ensure it can connect to the same network. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Connect Your Printer to the Network

  1. Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network that your second Mac computer will use.
    • If your printer is already connected to the Wi-Fi network, you can skip this step.
    • If not, follow these steps to connect your printer to Wi-Fi:
      • On the printer's control panel, go to the Wireless settings.
      • Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 2: Install HP Smart App on the Second Mac

Download and Install HP Smart:

  • Open the HP Smart app download page on your second Mac.
  • Click the Download button to install the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store.

Open the HP Smart App:

  • Once installed, open the HP Smart app on your second Mac.

Add Your Printer:

  • Click the "+" button or Add Printer in the HP Smart app.
  • The app will search for available printers on the network.
  • Select your HP Instant Ink printer from the list.

Follow the On-Screen Instructions:

  • The app may prompt you to log in to your HP account. Use the same HP Instant Ink account credentials.
  • Follow any additional setup instructions to complete the printer setup on the second Mac.

Kindly check the next post for the remaining steps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @jschles9,

Kindly check the remaining steps below.

Step 3: Set Up Printing on the Second Mac

Add the Printer to System Preferences:

  • Open System Preferences on your Mac.
  • Go to Printers & Scanners.

Add a New Printer:

  • Click the "+" button to add a new printer.
  • Select your HP Instant Ink printer from the list of available printers.

Install Printer Drivers:

  • If prompted, allow your Mac to download and install the necessary printer drivers.
  • Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation.

Test the Printer:

  • Open a document or photo on your second Mac and try printing a test page to ensure the setup was successful.

By following these steps, you should be able to add your HP Instant Ink printer to your second Mac and ensure it can print seamlessly. Thanks for your suggestion. I tried what you said and the problem was that the printer showed a lock and I couldn't unlock it.  I had to connect with a cable. After I used the cable to print I was able to do it wirelessly.
