Hi @Myse,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
To recover your HP ENVY Inspire 7921e All-in-One Printer after accidentally removing it from your account, you can follow these steps in the HP Smart app:
Steps to Re-add Your Printer in HP Smart:
Open HP Smart App:
- Launch the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
Sign In:
- Ensure you are signed in to your HP account that previously had the printer added.
Add Printer:
- On the main screen of the HP Smart app, click on the “Add Printer” button. If you don’t see this option, look for a “+” or similar icon to add a device.
Search for Printer:
- Ensure your printer is powered on and connected to the same network as your device.
- The app should automatically search for printers on the network. If it doesn’t find your printer, try clicking on “Set Up a New Printer”.
Re-add Printer:
- When your printer appears in the list, select it and follow the on-screen prompts to re-add it to your HP account.
Recovering Printer through Advanced Settings (if Applicable):
- Access Advanced Settings:
- In some cases, if the HP Smart app directs you to use “Advanced Settings,” this typically refers to accessing your printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Access Printer's EWS:
- Find your printer’s IP address:
- Print a network configuration page from your printer’s control panel.
- Enter the IP address in a web browser:
- Type the IP address into your browser's address bar and press Enter.
- Log in if required:
- You may need to log in. Default credentials are usually found in the printer’s manual or on a sticker on the printer.
- Look for Account or HP Smart settings:
- Navigate through the settings to find options related to HP Smart or Account settings, which might allow you to re-associate the printer.
- Find your printer’s IP address:
If you still can't find the "Advanced Settings" button or need more specific steps, Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Myse,
If you are experiencing issues with the HP Smart app, here are some common troubleshooting steps to help resolve problems such as connectivity issues, printing problems, or app crashes. Follow these steps to get your HP Smart app back to working smoothly:
HP Smart App Troubleshooting Steps
1. Check Internet and Network Connection
- Ensure that your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your HP printer.
- Restart your router if you experience any network connectivity issues.
2. Restart Devices
- Restart your printer, computer, or mobile device to clear any temporary glitches.
- Turn off your printer, wait for about 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
3. Update HP Smart App
- Make sure that the HP Smart app is up to date. Check for updates in your app store (Google Play Store, Apple App Store, Microsoft Store).
- If the app is outdated, update it to the latest version.
4. Re-add the Printer to HP Smart
- Open the HP Smart app and remove the printer if it is listed.
- Click on “Add Printer” or the “+” sign to search for and re-add your printer.
5. Check Printer Status
- Make sure the printer is turned on and has paper and ink/toner.
- Check if the printer has any error messages on its display panel (such as paper jams or low ink).
6. Disable VPN or Firewalls
- If you are using a VPN, try disabling it as it might interfere with the app’s ability to connect to the printer.
- Temporarily disable any firewalls or security software that might be blocking the app’s connection.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
