Hi @Bobbity48,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue installing software for your HP Photosmart C4180. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To assist better:

  1. You are not able to install the software as it is not compatible with Windows 10 as the printer is old.
  2. However you can still add the printer using Windows Built-In Drivers.

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Refer to this document HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help
