HP 3630 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Again I have serious problems to get my Printer 3630 connected wireless.Since 6 hours I have tried now everthing that is possible, but it is alwas like this:

the printer is conected to the WLAN, but when I add the printer always the message appears that 'the driver isn't available'. Even when I download the newest drivers it doesn't help. I fear that the only solution for me is to buy another brand and to get rid of HP.

Just tried it on another PC: it works fine, in the system configuration, add printer and no problems.

But I stillneed the help, as on my PC it's still not working. What is wrong ? Where can I get the drivers that will fix my problem ?

I tried the scan function: this is working wireless, but unfortunately not the printer. So the link is there, I can reach the printer. This really seems to be a driver problem.

@thomasU, Welcome to HP Support Community!

This could be due to the connectivity or the drivers installed. Let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printer connectivity issues.

For more information, go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/topic/printscandoctor

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2) Select your HP Printer

3) Select Uninstall

4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”

8). Click on the “Drivers” tab

9) Look for the HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10) Select Ok

11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12) Close Devices and Printers.

Use this link to download and install the new driver. Configure the printer.

Add a TCP/IP port.

  1. Print a Network Configuration Report from the Printer Settings or Wireless menu.
  2. Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, click the Ports tab, and then click Add Port.
  3. Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
  4. Follow the instructions to add a new port using the information listed on the Network Configuration Report.
  5. Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have now investigated another 12 hours. I did everything what was proposed by your site. No success. Still the problem that the drivers are not available and the printer installtion cannot be finalized.

I will stop now and I will throw out the HP printer and will buy an Epson. Epson always is working, whereas HP printer is a mess.

It is normalyy an easy question: where do Iget the drivers that I can communicate with the printer ? The ping is working, so it is simply the drivers that are missing and I cannot get them anywhere

The scanner is installed wireless, but only the scanner, not the printer.

When I use the HP Smart and klick on the 'print documents' button (the blue one on the left site) the message appears: the printer is known, but not fully installed on the windows system. Please install the printer driver'.

Whereas when I go in HP Smart to the 'printer set up' button (the grey button on the left side) then I can print pages about the set-up.

So what is the difference that I have to know, to get the printer installed that I can print form any application like Words or PDF ?

Can anybody tell me why you need different drivers for USB Connection and Wireless Connection ? The printer works fine when I am connected by LAN, but is not working wireless. So the driver for USB is obviously valid but not the driver for wireless

@thomasU

Add the printer via TCP/IP port-

1.  Select “Start” and type “printers” in the search box.

2.  Choose “Printers & scanners“.

3.   elect “Add a printer or scanner“.

4.  Wait for the “The printer that I want isn’t listed” option to appear, then select it.

5.   Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” , then select “Next“.

6.   select “TCP/IP Device” in the “Device type” list.

7.  Type the hostname or the IP address of the printer. Select “Next“. To find the IP address of the printer, touch the Wi-Fi icon on the printer's control panel.

8.  Windows should find the printer if the printer is on and configured correctly. You may have to specify more information. If prompted, Select the type of network adapter installed in the printer in the “Device Type” drop-down list. You can also click “Custom” to specify custom settings for the network printer. Select “Next“.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
