HP Officejet 4630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just got an unsolicited call from someone telling me that my HP Officejet 4630 was sending junk files to the internet.

This is a new one to me.  I assumed it was a scam call and hung up. Has anyone heard of this?

Hi:

It's definitely a scam.

These scammers have become very clever--even knowing your PC's/printer's model and serial number, and your name in some circumstances.

Just know, that no one from HP, Microsoft, or any other reputable computer company, will call you out of the blue and tell you that there is something wrong with your PC or prnter, or that it is sending malicious files through the internet.

HP is very aware of these scammers, and has issued this information at the link below.
