My F4280 does not have wifi. The list of Mac OSs provided by HP support does not include Big Sur 11.1.  which is what I have. When entering printer model Deskjet F4280 in HP Support form, the response is in effect "HP doesn't have driver".

Printer/scanner worked fine from Macbook via USB cable when OS was Sierra, but hasn't worked since upgrades to Catalina and Big Sur.

HP Deskjet F4280 driver for macOS 11 is not available from the HP website or Apple Software Update. However, Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.

 

NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.
