I am looking for the original, or close to the original, Windows 7, 64-bit drivers for an Officejet Pro 7740 printer. Are outdated drivers archived someplace? I am troubleshooting an issue for a friend and my latest theory is the newer drivers are not 100% compatible with his old OS and older version of Autocad he is running.

Hi @ELHood,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Finding specific outdated drivers can be challenging, as HP often updates its support pages and removes older versions. However, you may try the following steps.
- Official HP Support Website: Start by checking the official HP support website. HP sometimes maintains an archive of older drivers. Go to the HP support page, enter the model number (Officejet Pro 7740), and look for the driver downloads section. If there's an option to view previous driver versions, explore that.
- Internet Archive: The Internet Archive (archive.org) is a vast digital library that archives snapshots of websites, including driver download pages. You can try entering the HP support page URL for your printer from a few years ago and see if the archived versions are available.
- Local Computer Backup: If your friend had the printer installed on his computer previously, and if he regularly backs up his system, there might be a chance that the older driver is in a backup. You can explore the backup files or system restore points.
Remember to ensure the source of the drivers is trustworthy, as downloading from unofficial or suspicious websites can pose security risks. If none of these options work, you may need to consider updating the software or hardware components that are causing compatibility issues. Upgrading to a newer operating system or using newer software versions might be necessary for better compatibility.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
