Auto Double Sided not working since upgrade to Windows 10

Advanced Printing Features - Enabled.

After months of internet searching and reading suggestions from HP going back many years, I found a "cure".

When the message "Automatic Two Sided Printing Module is not Installed" appears, I have always pressed the "Cancel Printing" button on that message.

Instead, try pressing the Print button that appears in that same message.

Auto Double Sided Printing will start.

It will pause after page 1 with a message that the ink is drying.

Then it will resume and automatically print page 2.

You would have thought that HP would have been able to remove the erroneous message many years ago, but they haven't.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

A firmware update on the HP Web site resolves this issue. Follow these steps to download and install the update.

  1. Right-click this link, Select Software and Drivers, and then click Open in New Window to open the Software and Drivers page on the HP Web site.

  2. If prompted, type your product number in the dialog box. You might also need to click it in a list of similar products.

  3. Click Next, and then click your operating system. The Select Software and Drivers page opens.

  4. In the Update section, click HP Print Driver Update v1.0.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the update.

  6. Try to print again.

  • If these steps resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.

  • If the issue persists, continue with the Workaround.

Workaround:

The error message is incorrect. Click Print to continue printing the two-sided document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to update the driver.

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  1. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

  2. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

    • If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.

    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  3. If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

  4. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

  5. Try to print.

I ran the Doctor, but I don't think it installed anything.

The page that showed Printer Status had everything green ticked, including Software Updates

Turned the printer off and then on, still shows the message........
