@MarkenMagda, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
The behavior you're describing, your HP Envy 6520e printer powering on automatically when your PC starts, can happen depending on how the printer is connected and configured.
Why This Happens:
If your printer is connected via USB, it may receive power signals from the PC's USB port when the computer starts, causing it to turn on. This is especially common with printers that have "Auto-On" or "Wake on USB" features enabled.
How to Change This Behavior:
Option 1: Disable Auto-On via HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app on your PC. If you don’t have it, you can download it from the Microsoft Store.
- Click on your printer to open its settings.
- Go to Advanced Settings > System > EcoSMART Console.
- Look for Auto-On/Auto-Off or Wake on USB settings.
- Set Auto-On to Off or Manual, and disable Wake on USB if available.
- Click Apply to save changes.
Option 2: Use Embedded Web Server (EWS)
- Find your printer’s IP address (you can print a network configuration page from the printer).
- Enter the IP address in a web browser to open the Embedded Web Server.
- Navigate to Settings > Power Management.
- Disable Auto-On or Wake on USB options.
- Save and exit.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
