HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer

Purchased today, set up fine and connectivity is great.  Have not been able to print a single page since set up - each time I send something to print e.g photo from my iphone, message comes back saying "printer is busy. please wait", there is no print queue as I have cancelled all pending jobs

Hi @Planetkelly

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're facing an issue with your brand new HP Envy 6032e where the HPSmart app is showing a "printer is busy" message and nothing prints, even though there are no pending jobs in the print queue. This can be a frustrating issue, especially with a new printer. Let's go through a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this.

1. Restart the Printer and Network

Start with the basics: sometimes, simply restarting the printer and your devices can resolve connectivity or communication issues.

Steps:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait about 30 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Restart your phone or any device you're printing from, such as your iPhone, to refresh the connection.
  • If you're using Wi-Fi, restart your router as well to ensure there's no network interference.

2. Check for Pending Jobs and Clear Print Queue

Even though you've canceled pending jobs, there might still be a hidden print job causing the "printer is busy" error.

Steps:

  • Check the Print Queue: Open the print queue on your device (e.g., iPhone or computer). On a computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your HP Envy 6032e, and select See what's printing. If you see any pending jobs, try clearing them.
  • Cancel All Print Jobs: If the printer has any jobs stuck in the queue, cancel them. Even if you've already done this, sometimes jobs can remain in a "pending" state.

3. Reconnect Your Printer to Wi-Fi

There could be a connectivity issue between your printer and your device.

Steps:

  • Re-setup Wi-Fi Connection: Go to your printer's settings and reconnect it to the Wi-Fi network. On the HP Envy 6032e, you can do this via the printer's control panel:
    • Go to the Wi-Fi settings and select the network.
    • If needed, enter the Wi-Fi password to reconnect.
    • Open the HP Smart app on your phone.
    • Go to Settings > Add Printer and follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to the network.

4. Check Printer’s Status on HP Smart App

The "printer is busy" message could be caused by the printer itself being in a "busy" or "offline" state.

Steps:

  • Check Printer Status in HP Smart: Open the HP Smart app and look for the status of the printer. If it says Offline or shows a busy message, try the following:
    • Ensure your printer is on and ready to print.
    • If it's still marked as offline, try clicking Fix or Troubleshoot within the app for any prompts.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
