Hi @MS1230 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to troubleshoot your HP DeskJet 2852e All-in-One Printer and connect it to Wi-Fi, try the following steps:

1. Check the Wi-Fi network and settings HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network)

  • Wi-Fi network: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working correctly, and that the printer is within range of the router.
  • Frequency band: The printer supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router is set to 5 GHz only, change it to 2.4 GHz or enable dual-band support.
  • SSID visibility: Make sure your network SSID (Wi-Fi name) is visible and not hidden.

2. Reset the printer's network settings

  • Reset the printer’s network settings:
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
    2. Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons for about 3-5 seconds until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking.
    3. This will reset the network settings on the printer and prepare it for a new Wi-Fi connection.

3. Use the HP Smart app HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Open the app and select Add Printer or Set up a new printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi. The app should detect your printer and guide you through the process.

4. Manual connection via the printer's control panel

If you cannot use the app, you can also connect the printer manually via the printer’s control panel.

  1. On the printer, press the Wi-Fi button.
  2. Wait for the printer to detect available networks.
  3. Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password using the printer’s control panel.

5. Update the printer firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. This can be done through the HP Smart app or the printer's web interface.

6. Check for interference

  • Make sure there are no physical obstructions (e.g., walls or large metal objects) between the printer and the router that could affect the Wi-Fi signal.

7. Restart your router

  • Power cycle your router to ensure a fresh connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
