Hi @Frustrated12319
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
I understand your HP Smart Tank 7600 series printer is stuck on the "Busy, Please Wait" message, even after restarting and disconnecting the printer. Don't worry I’ll be glad to help you with this .
To assist you better, could you kindly confirm:
- Does the "Busy, Please Wait" message appear immediately after powering on the printer, or only when attempting to print?
- Are there any blinking lights or error messages displayed on the printer's control panel?
In the meantime, kindly try the following steps and confirm ;
Step 1: Perform a Full Power Reset
- Turn the printer on.
- Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors temporarily).
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on.
Step 2: Check for Stuck Print Jobs
If the printer was processing a print job before the issue started:
- On your computer, open the print queue.
- Cancel all pending print jobs.
- Restart both the printer and the computer.
- Try printing a test page.
Step 3: Access Embedded Web Server (If Connected to Wi-Fi)
If the printer is connected to your network:
- Find the printer's IP address.
- Enter the IP address into a web browser.
- Check whether any pending tasks, maintenance processes, or firmware updates are shown.
Step 4: Restore Printer Network Settings
If the issue appears related to network communication:
- Open the printer control panel.
- Navigate to Wireless Settings.
- Restore the network settings to default.
- Reconnect the printer using the HP app.

HP Printer Does Not Respond or Becomes Unavailable - Click here
The "Busy, Please Wait" message typically indicates that the printer is attempting to complete an internal task such as processing a print job, communicating with a network service, finalizing a maintenance process, or initializing after startup. The above steps help isolate whether the cause is related to the printer itself, the network connection, or a pending print task.
I hope this helps.
