HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just recently purchased this as often require A4 and A3 sized posters of the same subject.

So I also got the extra Tray 3 with it thinking I could have A4 in Tray 3 and A3 in Tray 2.

I have set everything up as it should be but it only prints from Tray 3?

When I pull Tray 3 out the printer lets me know about it but does not do this when I pull Tray 2 out, so it appears that the reason why I cannot print from Tray 2 is because the printer has not detected it as being there?

Is there something I have missed perhaps or is it a fault either with the printer or the tray?

I hasten to add that Tray 3 is no problem printing with A4 or A3 and I am currently swapping between the paper sizes to get what i needed done, it's just inconvenient having to change over papers everytime.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can get the printer to detect Tray 2 please.

Have you tried removing it from the base to see if tray 2 works? This is not an issue I have run into. Do you hear the tray lift when you push it in? Could be bad switches in the tray cavity. if you just purchased you should have warranty on the product.

Thank you for your reply.

I did not hear the tray lift or engage so i lifted it off of tray 3 and found one of the micro switches at the rear of where tray 2 goes to be hanging down, I clicked it back into place and now everything is working as it should.
