Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I would like to know where you are getting this firmware update notification?
If the notification on the printer there is no option to disable it. However, if the notification is on the computer you can disable it.
Here is how it is done.
- Under Settings in the Message Center in the HP Printer Utility.
- Turn off Display HP Alerts.
If the issue persists then please review the following steps and check if that helps:
- Open the Devices and Printers folder, right-click the HP printer, and then select Properties.
- Click the Device Settings tab.
- In the Installable Options section, set Printer Status Notification to either Enable or Disable.
- Click OK.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
Are you able to use the printer now?
Are you getting any error on the printer? If yes, let me know the exact error.
Look forward to hearing from you.
