Envy 6055e
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hi, 

We are a diplomatic family posted in Brazil. I bought a new HP Envy 6055e from the US on Amazon.com through the diplomatic mail. I was unable to set it up here in Brazil - repeated error messages - and after a protracted troubleshooting session of over an hour on the phone with HP they said it's a regional printer and will only work in the US. I looked on Amazon and of course I'm outside the returns window now. I'm pretty angry as there was absolutely no indication that it wouldn't work anywhere else on the product description. Is there anything I can do to make it work here? Seems overly complicated when I just want to print from my laptop.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

We'll have to do a region reset.

 

To do a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

 

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer. 

3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region to which you want to reset it to.
