HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to lessen all of the things in my house connecting to my wifi. I thought I could do this with my printer. It is hard-wired to my computer with usb cable, and prints fine. I have connected printer directly to router with ethernet cable, but connection is not recognized by Instant Ink account.

EVERY CALL to HP is frustrating. They say 'wireless connection is necessary' yet window on printer says Web services can be via wireless or "or that the ethernet cable is securely connected". Also the HP support page says "select wired network option if you would like to connect the printer to your network with an ethernet cable. Web services, such as ePrint and HP Instant Ink, are available with this type of connection."

Multiple places HP says ethernet connection is an option, but EVERY PERSON I talk to on the phone says it must be wireless.  What is the correct answer?? Can I use Instant Ink with an ethernet connection from my printer to my router??? THANK YOU!! ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!

Yes, you will be able to enroll the printer in Instant Ink with an ethernet connection.

Make sure the printer is connected to the internet.
