Product: HP Photosmart C4780 All-in-One Printer

I have an older HP photosmart printer and can't seem to connect it to my macbook. When I try to identify an operating system, it only gives me options up to iOS 10.9 and I have 12.6. Does this mean I can't connect this printer to my laptop?

I looked over at Apple and did not see the C4780 listed as AirPrint.

there are universal PCL and Postscript drivers for older system but windows only (that I know of)

 

Possibly Apple has a driver as indicated in below discussion.  Let us know if it works as other may have the same problem.
