Can my HP Officejet Pro 8620 function as an "air printer" for my Iphone?

Yes your 'HP Officejet Pro 8620' can be used to AirPrint.

Here are the steps that you can follow to use AirPrint feature with your HP Printer.

 

 

1. Setting up the network connection.


Scenario 1: If you have a local WiFi network

 

Step 1: Connect the iPhone device to the network.

  • On your Apple device, make sure Wi-Fi is on and there is a check mark next to the name of your local Wi-Fi network.
  • If you are connected to a different network, tap the name of your network to join it.

Step 2: Check the printer network connection status.

  • Touch the Wireless icon or open the Network Settings or Setup menu to view the network connection status.
  • Make sure the iPhone & Printer are connected to the same local WiFi network.
  • If the printer is not connected to the same WiFi, follow the steps below
    • On the printer, open the Set up  > Network or Wireless menu > select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then follow the instructions to connect the printer to your network.

 

Scenario 2: If you do not have a Local WiFi network

  • Make sure the printer is turned on, ink cartridges are installed, and plain paper is loaded in the main tray.

  • On your Apple iOS device, tap Settings, and then tap Wi-Fi.

  • Under the Choose a network menu, select your printer with DIRECT in the name.

  • If prompted for a password, type 12345678. This is the default password to log in.

    • Note: Reconnect to your local Wi-Fi network after the print job completes.

 

2. Printing from your Apple device

  • Make sure the printer is turned on, ink cartridges are installed, and plain paper is loaded in the main tray.

  • Open the item you want to print, and then tap the Share icon or.

  • Tap Print or the Print icon to open Printer Options.

  • Tap Select Printer to select your printer.

  • Change any of the following print job settings like paper size, number of copies, Black & White, Double-sided printing etc.
