Can not download the printer set up to my PC Deskjet 6540 printer

Trying an trying on the web for assistance with no success.  Need to install printer desk jet 6540 

tried so many websites and no luck.  DOWNLOAD THE SET UP .

I am glad to hear that during your journeys you were not caught in the web of a scam site that promises big and then just wants to sell you software to clear imaginary bugs from your computer.  Good Job getting here to ask.

Drivers, when available from HP, are always free - no sneaking around.

Sadly,

Printer is old --

There are no longer HP drivers listed as available for this printer.

Instead, it is advised that you download / install the Windows / Microsoft Built-in print drivers to provide basic print function.

Built-in drivers, when available, are not a terrible option and might be "enough" so you can continue to use your printer for a while longer.

Note that another of the printers in this series has been marked as Retired.  When that happens. HP removes all the documentation from the support website for that model.

Think about downloading the User Manual and anything else you want to have on hand.

When available for the printer and a supported version of Windows, install the Windows Built-in print drivers.

Windows Fax and Scan: In Windows, search for and open Windows Fax and Scan. Click New Scan, and then select your printer.

Windows Scan app: In Windows, search for and open the Windows Scan app. If it is not listed, go to Windows  Scan (in English) to install it.
