@Jolhn_Barlow, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble getting your HP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One printer online and connected to Wi-Fi. Let’s go through the steps to get your printer connected and ready to use.

Check Printer Status

Make sure:

  • The printer is powered on.
  • The control panel is responsive.
  • There are no error messages or blinking lights.

Reset Network Settings

This clears any previous network configurations:

  1. On the printer control panel, go to Settings.
  2. Select Network Settings > Restore Network Settings.
  3. Confirm the reset.

Use HP Smart App for Setup

The easiest way to connect your printer is via the HP Smart app:

  1. Download the HP Smart app from HP Smart.
  2. Open the app and sign in or create an HP account.
  3. Tap “+” to add a new printer.
  4. The app should detect your printer in Setup Mode (if not, reset the network again).
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.

Note: The HP Smart Tank 7005 supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands. Make sure your device is connected to the same network you want the printer to use.

Check Wi-Fi Requirements

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and not hidden.
  • The printer should be within range of the router.
  • Temporarily disable VPNs or firewalls if the app can't find the printer.

Print a Network Configuration Page

To verify connection:

  1. On the printer, go to Settings > Reports.
  2. Select Network Configuration Page.
  3. Check if the printer has a valid IP address and is connected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
