I have an HP Pro 9010 inkjet printer. It belonged to my mother and I inherited it. I cannot get the printer to connect to the computer. I've reset the printer, reloaded the wifi, added an ethernet cable. There is nothing else I can do. Ive called and tried to speak to a human, but all I get are virtual assistants.

Hi @Wondra66,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for reaching out, and I’m truly sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve been having with your HP Pro 9010 series printer—especially in a moment when you're also managing the emotional weight of inheriting it. I understand how frustrating it must be when you've tried everything—resetting, reconnecting, even hardwiring it—and it still won’t cooperate.
Let’s walk through this together, step by step, and hopefully bring this printer back to life.
🛠️ Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
1. Restart All Devices
This clears any error states.
- Turn off your printer, computer, and router.
- Unplug the printer from power for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Restart your computer and router.
2. Check Network Connection
Make sure both your printer and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- On the printer, check the Wireless light:
- Solid blue = connected
- Flashing or off = not connected
If needed, reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.

3. Use HP Smart App
This is the easiest way to connect your printer.
- Download: HP Smart App
- Open the app and click “Add Printer”
- Follow the prompts to connect via Wi-Fi or Ethernet
4. Try USB Connection (as a fallback)
If Wi-Fi and Ethernet fail, try connecting via USB:
- Plug the printer directly into your computer using a USB cable.
- Windows should auto-detect and install the driver.
5. Install Latest Drivers
Make sure your computer has the correct drivers:

I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
