HP DeskJet 2632 All-in-One Printer

I just recently purchased a second hand HP Deskjet 2632 all in one printer off eBay,I don’t think the seller was the original owner but someone buying in and selling on.In the advert he said he did not have the old pass word needed to join my WFi  to the printer.I purchased anyway thinking I could resolve this problem by asking for help from HP.If anyone could help me with this set up problem I would be very grateful.Regards.

Hi @Foot_66,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the previous owner of the HP DeskJet 2632 printer didn't reset it properly before selling it, which is why it's still trying to connect to its old Wi-Fi network. To get the printer set up on your Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

1. Factory Reset the Printer

Performing a factory reset will remove the old Wi-Fi settings from the printer and allow you to set it up fresh with your own Wi-Fi network.

  • Turn the printer on.
  • Press and hold the Wireless button (the one that looks like a signal icon) and the Cancel button (the one with the red X) at the same time for about 5 seconds. The printer should now reset.
  • The wireless light will blink, indicating the reset process is complete.

2. Connect the Printer to Your Wi-Fi

Once the reset is done, the printer will enter Wi-Fi setup mode:

  • Make sure your printer is on and the wireless light is blinking.
  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the HP website or from the Microsoft Store if you haven't already.
  • Open the HP Smart app and select Set up a new printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions. The app will guide you through connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network by entering the network credentials.

3. Manual Wi-Fi Setup (if needed)  HP printers - Wi-Fi connection is lost after router or network settings change

If you prefer to connect manually without using the HP Smart app, you can:

  • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the light starts blinking.
  • Then, press the WPS button on your Wi-Fi router within two minutes. This should automatically connect the printer to your network.

4. Install the Printer Software

After successfully connecting to Wi-Fi, you can install the printer drivers on your computer using the HP Smart app or directly from the HP Support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
