HP LaserJet4000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Have a HP LaserJet 4000 communicating with a Windows 10  PC via LPT to USB using the same conversion cable I have for literally years. This printer has operated without a hitch until last week when I added memory to the PC. After adding memory, Printer throws a Code 45 communication error. Every other printer or program works fine. For the past three days have been trying to get the printer and PC to communicate. I have installed and reinstalled drivers off the HP web site and suddenly the printer and PC began talking but better yet, printing. However now I have a bunch of duplicate printers showing up. Under "Printers and Scanners" I'm showing the following.

Under Device Manager "Printers" only HP LaserJet4000 Series PCL 5 shows.

The printer(Copy 2) works. Printing out of a program like Word lists all 4 printers to choose from.

I'd like to delete the two Copy 1 printers and the one HP4000 with Drivers unavailable and everything I've tried has been stymied. at every turn.

Suggestions or solutions?

Thanks
