I have had my c309a for some time now but beginning to have problems with alignment, not printing clearly etc. Changed ink cartridges to no avail - very temperamental. I decided to uninstall all HP related programmes and reinstall from downloading from the HP website but I now cannot find the driver to download - not there any more so assume HP have stopped supporting? I tried installing the printer using the disk that came with the printer but in the window I just get 'Exit' and no 'Install'. Does this mean I need to buy a new printer? (I did clean the printer head as someone suggested in a post I found relating to my printing problem)

Hello,
Unfortunately, HP no longer provides drivers for this printer.
Please use the HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer - C309a Full Software and Drivers to install the printer.
Right-click on PS_AIO_05_C309a_Net_Full_Win_WW_140_408-5.exe, then on Run as administrator, and then click Yes. Follow the instructions to install your printer.
Concerning HP Solution Center, go to HP Solution Center doesn't open.
To align the Printheads, please use HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Open the HPPSdr.exe.
- In the HP Print and Scan Doctor app, click on Start.
- Select your printer, then click on Next.
- Wait for HP Print and Scan Doctor to load the information from your printer.
- Click on the Printer menu, then on Printer Services....
- Click on Align Printheads. The printer prints a Printhead alignment page.
You want to make a shortcut on the Windows desktop of the HP Scan application, do the following:
- Please go to the following path:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer C309a\bin
- Right click on HPScan.exe, then click on Show more options, and then on Create shortcut.
Otherwise, try the HP Smart App.

Hi Mans - thank you so much for this link and yes it has worked. However, printer still sick - just printed an invoice and logo and my email address have come out blue (should be black) and rest of the page is blank. I have done everything I can so sadly I think a new printer is required. I did clean the printer head last week and installed new cartridges but to no avail. I have noticed inside the printer where the printer head sits (before printing) it is shiny black and looks like gunk so am thinking this is build up of ink over the years.
However, you have helped me in that I can still use the scanner which is great as I have a document which needs signing, scanning and emailing - should have been done last week!

Do you encounter the same issue when you copy a document from the printer's control panel?

Hi Mans - did all that but the printer is not being recognised by the computer! The printer is saying 'offline'.
When I troubleshot I get two messages below -
'Printer HP PHotosmart C309a series cannot be contacted over the network' - Not Fixed and a white cross in red circle
'Your Computer appears to be correctly configured but the device or resource (IP Address) is not responding - Detected with an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle.
Aaaargh!

Hello and thanks for your return,
Use the wireless configuration wizard to connect the printer to your wireless network.
a. Write down your network name (SSID) and WEP key or WPA passphrase.
b. Turn on wireless radio.
❑ Press Setup.
❑ Highlight Network and press OK.
❑ Highlight Wireless Radio and press OK.
❑ Highlight On and press OK.
c. Start Wireless Setup Wizard.
❑ Highlight Wireless Setup Wizard and press OK.
d. Connect to wireless network.
❑ The setup wizard searches for available networks, and then displays list of detected network names (SSIDs).
❑ Highlight your network name and press OK.
e. Follow prompts.
❑ Follow the prompts on display to complete connection.
❑ Press OK to print a network configuration page.
Please use/run the installation program for your printer so that it can communicate with the computer again.
