I had to wipe my imac and now I can't find Easy Scan (officejet 9010). I was going to delete and reinstall my printer hoping the option for Easy Scan would pop up again, but I can't seem to delete the printer from HP Smart either. And I can't find the software to just download Easy Scan. Please help.

If you're having trouble finding the Easy Scan software for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 All-in-One Printer series after wiping your iMac, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

 

Reinstall HP Smart:

  • Open the App Store on your iMac.
  • Search for "HP Smart" in the App Store.
  • Download and install the HP Smart app.

Remove and Re-add the Printer:

  • Open "System Preferences" on your Mac.
  • Click on "Printers & Scanners."
  • Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 printer from the list.
  • Click the '-' (minus) button to remove the printer.
  • Confirm the removal.
  • Disconnect the printer from your Mac.
  • Restart your Mac.
  • Reconnect the printer and add it again in "Printers & Scanners."

Download Easy Scan Separately:

  • Visit the HP Support website (https://support.hp.com/).
  • Enter your printer model (HP OfficeJet Pro 9010) in the search bar.
  • Navigate to the "Downloads" or "Software" section.
  • Look for the Easy Scan software and download it.

Use Apple Image Capture:

  • Open the "Applications" folder.
  • Locate and open "Image Capture."
  • Connect your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 to your Mac.
  • Your printer should appear in the left panel of Image Capture.
  • Use Image Capture for basic scanning needs.

Check for HP Easy Scan in the App Store:

  • Open the App Store on your iMac.
  • Use the search bar to look for "HP Easy Scan."
  • If available, download and install the app.

Thank you for the suggestions, unfortunately they did not solve the problem. I followed your instructions, but when I added the printer back on my iMac, it didn’t take me through the steps to install anything, so I didn’t have the option of also installing Easy Scan. I also could not find Easy Scan on the software/drivers page for my printer, and it is not listed on the App Store. I’m not sure if I would be able to reinstall everything if my printer were also removed from the  HP Smart app, but I can’t figure out how to do that either.
