Hi @706-473-2303,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry you're feeling so frustrated with your HP printer! Let's figure out what's going wrong and get it working for you. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Check Printer Status

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to your computer or network.
  • Look for any error messages or blinking lights on the printer's control panel.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor on your computer. This tool will identify and fix common issues with printing.

Verify the Printer’s Connection

  • For USB: Ensure the cable is securely connected.
  • For WiFi: Check that the printer is connected to the correct network and the signal is strong. Restart the router if necessary.

Set the Printer as Default

  • On your computer, go to:
    • Windows: Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click on your printer and select Set as Default Printer.
    • Mac: System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Select your printer and make it the default.

Print a Test Page

  • Try printing a test page from the printer settings menu on your computer or directly from the printer.

Check for Paper and Ink Issues

  • Ensure there is paper in the tray and that the cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink.

Clear the Print Queue

  • On your computer, clear any stuck print jobs:
    • Windows: Go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what's printing. Right-click and cancel all print jobs.
    • Mac: Open the print queue and clear any jobs listed.

Reinstall the Printer Driver

  • Uninstall the printer from your computer, restart, and reinstall the drivers. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait 60 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check the Printing Application

  • If you are using a specific app to print (e.g., Microsoft Word, Chrome), try printing from another application or a basic document to rule out app-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
