My HP P2055dn laser printer was originally installed on an HP Envy Phoenix 810 operating Windows 7 as a network printer. That computer has since upgraded to Windows 10, but cannot operate Windows 11. I no longer have the network provider, so I wanted to move the printer to a stand alone USB printer on my new HP EliteOne 800 G6 computer. I have tried every HP support app and suggestion on the HP site with every updated driver option now available. I cannot find any original installation CD. The only tech support option for pay was in the UK, and I was afraid that the phone number they would provide was an overseas connection. I would appreciate any help, even if the answer is that it is impossible.

Try universal print driver PCL6 from

I tried that driver twice, once as plug and play, and once as the first option in the list. I can get the printer shown as available, but test page will not print. No error message, no blinking lights...diagnostics cannot find the problem. Perhaps I am doing something wrong in the process, but I have spent hours following the HP Smart app instructions and two step by step HP video installation guidelines.

I gave up trying after 2 hours and obviously don't know how to do this. I now have three print options, all with different drivers, and none will print a test page. I have removed the printers, but they still show as print options. I am sure it must be easy, but I have to give up for this week. Thanks for helping, but I am still lost and wasting too much time.

I tried again with 64 bit and 32 bit compatibility options without success. Some installations will not proceed, some do, but print a test page results in nothing happening, and some say the printer is in an error state when trying to print a test page. I wonder if there is some issue with what my system is, and what the print drivers detect. The print diagnostics say it is trying to install to a Win 10 x64 system, but my computer system reports Win 11 Pro x64 Ver22H2. Maybe the latest MS update has bugs...or maybe ???
