Says Printer is already registered to another account. Probably my wife, deceased a year ago. Is it possible to get a human to unregister it from her account? Certainly can't do it through the on-line assistant.
This happened at the end of a full install of software from Easy Start 16.7.5.
All trying to fix the error: Printer can't print. Something went wrong. Check your HP account.
Suggestions to download HP Smart app fail because Microsoft Store app won't even load.
I'm a 75 year old former computer professional trying to help an 82 year old luddite; and I cannot believe I've spent 6 hours trying to get the printer to work. And the joys of proving I'm not a bot just to get a Microsoft account! Two times through the 15 tests.

Try Resetting the Printer
- Sometimes a factory reset on the printer can help with connectivity issues. Check the printer’s manual or HP’s support website for instructions on how to perform a reset.
4. Reinstall the Printer Software
- Uninstall any current HP software from your computer and then reinstall the latest version from HP’s official website. This might help resolve installation or registration issues.
5. HP Smart App
- If the Microsoft Store isn’t loading, you might try downloading the HP Smart app directly from the HP website. Some apps are available for download outside of the Microsoft Store.

1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en
2. Select the country.
3. Enter the serial number of your device.
4. Select the country from the drop-down.
5. Click on "Show Options".
6. Fill out the web form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
