Hi @lp_alta,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

What is the current OS you are using/

If you're unable to see printer status or apps when right-clicking on the lower right corner of the screen in Windows 10 with Firefox, it could be due to several reasons. Here's what you can try:

Check Printer Status:

  • Open the Control Panel on your computer.
  • Click on "Devices and Printers."
  • Right-click on your HP Envy 7640 printer and select "Printer properties."
  • In the printer properties window, you should be able to see the printer status and any print jobs in the queue.

Check Printer Apps:

  • Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your HP Envy 7640 printer and click on "Manage."
  • From there, you can access printer apps and settings.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP support website.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Envy 7640) and download the latest drivers for Windows 10.
  • Install the drivers and restart your computer.

Check Firefox Settings:

  • Open Firefox and click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the upper-right corner.
  • Select "Options" and go to the "General" tab.
  • Scroll down to the "Browsing" section and make sure "Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar" is enabled.
  • Restart Firefox and check if you can see printer status or apps when right-clicking on the lower right corner of the screen.

Check Windows Taskbar Settings:

  • Right-click on the taskbar.
  • Go to Taskbar settings.
  • Make sure that "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" is turned off.
  • Check if this resolves the issue.

Restart Windows Explorer:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Under the Processes tab, right-click on Windows Explorer and select Restart.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a deeper issue with your Windows or Firefox settings. You may need to contact HP phone support or Microsoft support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi, Since this post, I have purchased a new HP Envy 6065e Printer. I am 84 and not the brightest kid on the block. Before setting up my new printer I thought I had better uninstall the old printer. Might have been a mistake. I had my brother come over to troubleshoot after installing new printer in order to get it to work. He thinks this printer is too complicated for me. I had to search the Internet for it's User Guide (138 pp.). It comes with a lot of "bells and whistles" and I think I will eventually comfortable in operating it.  And with your help.
