Portrait or Landscape is a feature of the application or software you are using to open, view, configure, and submit the job to the printer.
The Printer has no concept of orientation except as it relates to cartridge and print quality alignment.
The extent that you have control over the content also depends on the type of content.
Generally, when printing from a Browser, there is likely a selection for Orientation.
On a supported printer and using a supported version of the HP Smart application, for example,
Orientation, including Portrait and Landscape can be selected during print or scan operations.
