Product: LaserJet Tank 2504dw

I just unboxed this new printer tonight. I went to 123.hp.com as instruction booklet said, but it would not finish setup, said it couldn't find the printer after initially seeing it--i was asked to press on "i" button at one point. Then, I downloaded the offline installer (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-laserjet-tank-2502-2506-printer-series/model/2100846460), and again, initially it saw the printer, and asked for the serial number of my printer. I entered it, but then the HP Easy Start installation screen went blank, and it is still not installed.

 

Any suggestions? I was really hoping to get this working. I've had my LaserJet p1102w for 10 years or so, printed over 100K pages, so I was hoping to get a good start with this new one.

Never mind. I had to x out of the installation software dialog--and then it offered to set up with just the drivers, and none of the other bloat. I opted for that, and the installation went smooth. I could print wirelessly from my laptop. 

Well a strange, frustrating installation experience but then again at least I'm printing 30 mins after I unboxed it. 

 

If mods want to delete this, go ahead, I was going to, but didn't see how to do it.
