HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One Printer - B111a

I have an HP Photosmart 5510 B111a and I have all setup cartridges EXCEPT 1! The square maroon/red one. I've seen people get into service mode and do OOBE mode and I can't quite figure out how to do it with my model.

I've watched youtube videos of others doing it with different models and tried doing the same on mine to no avail.

If I could get a direct message from HP or someone in the community that has the answer that's willing to help it would be greaty appreciated... as I'm over here pressing a bunch of button combinations failing... but I could get lucky; but, I'd like to think my chances are better getting the answer here. Thanks.

Ask Copilot how to access the service menu.

If the Copilot app does not know then contact HP

I can't even update the firmware on the printer via web/ip. This printer, has NO setup ink. This is absolutely ridiculous I can't work around this. No reset button / routine (public), can't update firmware, can't do nothing with it without the setup ink (which i don't have!!).

PLEASE SOMEBODY AT HP HELP ME!

The firmware or your printer can be downloaded from here.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/swdetails/hp-photosmart-5510-e-all-in-one-printer-series-b111/m...

When you run the application it will search for the printer and as long as you have the printer online it should find it and update the firmware.  The 5520 has the same setup as the 5510.

If English is not your native language or if you wish to get additional information not covered below, then use the HP and Microsoft support assistants. The latest HPSA supports 36 languages and can be downloaded here. Microsoft's AI assistant is in the latest Windows 10 and 11 releases and there are instructions here on how to enable the AI. Microsoft's AI assistant has a microphone button and supports natural language processing.

You need to ask elsewhere, such as Microsoft's AI Copilot or HP's support line, on how to reset the 55xx printers.
Let me know if you have a flex system (WiFi boosters or repeaters) as the setup is much more complicated.

Thanks for the firmware and how to possibly get an install working... i have a usb cable as well as the internet setup on it already.

This is the hp support, everytime i go to that link, it brings me back here.

I mainly need the steps required on how to get my printer from the screen shown in picture into service mode to modify the settings; as I DO NOT have the setup cartridge required to setup. Thanks.

According to the Community's Rules of Participation:

4d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.

This includes reset advice on printers where the reset erases passwords.

You will need to contact HP to get this resolved.  Possibly Copilot can help.

Security huh? Seems more like a bad setup that requires what it requires, a workaround... I just don't have the setup cartridge for the printer... can i get a new one???!!! If not, then my points remain valid, I've seen messages of people on this website, having been given in dm the solution to do exactly what I'm asking. It's not like I'm asking for a motherboard schematic, uart debugports and login info. Just a solution for this, dare I say bug.

Can someone please, not give me off to some A.I. BS and give me proper human logic n reasoning, helping a fellow in need. Where does one get these setup cartridges? That's my problem. Without these setup cartridges, I'm stuck with a paperweight due to improper forsight of resale of your products.
