I am having trouble printing any size photos with my HP Envy 7855 Printer. It either jams or does not detect any paper. I change the settings each time I change sizes and I still get the same errors. It seems like it has trouble detecting the photo paper and also it has trouble gripping the photo paper.

Hi @mrscarfield,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with a couple of frustrating issues with your HP Envy 7855. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the photo paper problems:
Check Paper Tray Settings: Ensure that the paper tray is correctly set for the type and size of paper you’re using. Make sure the paper guides are adjusted properly to fit the photo paper. If the guides are too tight or too loose, it can cause paper jams or issues with paper detection.
Inspect and Clean Rollers: Paper jams often result from dirty or worn-out rollers. Turn off the printer and unplug it, then use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the rollers inside the paper tray area. Be careful not to use anything abrasive or damp, as this could damage the printer.
Paper Type and Quality: Ensure you’re using the correct type of photo paper for your printer. Sometimes, very thick or glossy photo paper can cause feeding issues. Verify that the photo paper is within the recommended thickness and quality for your printer model.
Reload Paper: Try reloading the photo paper into the tray, making sure it’s aligned correctly and that there’s no curling or warping in the paper. If the paper is bent or not aligned properly, it can lead to feeding problems.
Check for Paper Type Settings: When printing, ensure you have selected the correct paper type and size in the print settings on your computer. If these settings don’t match the paper in the tray, the printer might not detect it correctly.
Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve compatibility and performance issues. Check the HP website or your printer’s settings menu for any available updates.
Perform a Printer Reset: Sometimes performing a reset can resolve issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP offers a diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can help diagnose and fix various printing issues. Download it from the HP support website and run it to see if it can identify and resolve the problem.
Paper Path Obstructions: Check for any obstructions or debris in the paper path that might be causing jams or affecting the paper feed. Sometimes small pieces of paper or dust can interfere with proper paper handling.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
