Hi @Hank-3481,

Please find the next set of steps below.

Check Firewall Settings:

  • Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking communication between your devices and the printer.
  • You might need to add an exception for the printer software in your firewall settings.

Additional Tips:

Assign a Static IP Address:

  • Assigning a static IP address to your printer can help avoid IP address conflicts and ensure consistent connectivity.
  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network > Advanced Settings > IP Settings.
  • Choose Manual IP and assign an IP address that is within the range of your network but outside the DHCP range of your router.

Use HP Smart App:

  • The HP Smart app can help you troubleshoot and manage your printer. Download it on your mobile device and follow the app's prompts to connect and manage your printer.

Reset Network Settings:

  • As a last resort, you can reset the network settings on your printer to factory defaults and then reconnect it to the new Wi-Fi network.
  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the communication issue between your devices and your HP Officejet 6700 Premium E-All-In-One Printer.

If you continue to experience problems, contacting HP Phone Support for further assistance may be necessary.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @Hank-3481,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the connectivity issues.

Make sure, your printer and your device are on the same network as 2.4GHZ only.

When you change your router, your printer might still retain settings from the old network, even if it's connected to the new one. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue with your HP Officejet 6700 Premium E-All-In-One Printer:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting:

Restart All Devices:

  • Turn off your printer, computer, and router. Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn them back on.
  • This helps to refresh the network and ensure all devices are properly connected.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the new Wi-Fi network.
  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Wireless settings to check the connection status.
  • You can print a network configuration page from the printer to verify its connection to the correct network.

Reconfigure Wireless Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network.
  • Ensure you enter the correct Wi-Fi password.

Update Printer IP Address:

  • Sometimes, the printer’s IP address might change after connecting to a new router. Update the printer’s IP address on your computer.
  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP Officejet 6700 printer and select Printer Properties.
  • Go to the Ports tab and click on Configure Port.
  • Update the printer’s IP address to match the new IP address assigned by the router. You can find this on the network configuration page printed from the printer.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the existing printer drivers and software from your computer.
  • Download the latest drivers and software for your HP Officejet 6700 Premium from the HP Support website.
  • Install the downloaded drivers and software, then follow the setup instructions to connect the printer to the network.

Kindly find the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
