I am trying to connect my HP Photosmart 5520 to my new MacAir, running MacOS Sonoma 14.5. I have tried to add printer from the Mac, and I have tried to use HP Easy Start-2 and HP Easy Start-3. I removed the printer from my Mac (where I had ported over info from my previous Mac), and reset the printer itself to factory default settings. The printer is on my home wifi network, and so is the Mac. Please help. From the Mac I get the message:
An error occurred while trying to add the selected device.
Unable to communicate with the printer at this time.
From Easy Start (both) I get the message:
Cannot configure the device software.
Go back to the previous step and try to install the software again.
When I go back to the previous step to install the software again, it always says the install is successful, but then I get the same error message.
Please help.

Never mind. After way too many hours, an easy call to Apple, and having to search ridiculously long to find a customer service # for HP (then talking to 4 people, including one who could not transfer me), I just bought a Brother printer.
