Officejet 4630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently switched computer and trying to connect my Officejet 4630 via wireless. I have downloaded the latest drivers. USB connection works, but wireless will not install. Setup recognizes the printer on the network and asks me if I want to install but the install will not complete. I ran the diagnosis software which recognizes the printer and tells me that software needs to be installed and asks if I want to install it, and I click yes, and then the little wheel goes around and around and around and around and nothing happens. When I am asked by the virtual assistant what printer model I need help with, the Officejet 4630 does not appear in the dropdown list, only the 4650. I strongly suspect that no new drivers are being written for this model and I am screwed. Any suggestions?
TIA

Hi @tobymars

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

You do not require a driver to connect the printer to the wireless network. Let us try these steps:

On the printer, go to Setup > Wireless > Restore defaults

Go back to Wireless > Wireless setup wizard > Choose your network and enter the password.

Once the printer is connected to the network, the blue light will become steady.

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the MAC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

Now, try installing the printer drivers on the PC.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
