Product: HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One Printer - B111h
Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

Just got a new APPLE M1 IMAC running Monterey and it cannot talk to HP Photosmart 5514 all in one printer - Existing HP drivers do not support it. What gives?

Hi,

Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.

Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

 

As soon as HP Easy start prompts to install HP Smart, close HP Easy Start and press the Skip to Software Download button, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation and check for any difference.

Hi @stonep ,

As soon as you launch the software and see its first screen, you should click the HP Easy Start menu item in the top menu (near the Apple icon of the computer), there you should see the Uninstall HP Software option.

Is it predetermined that you need to run the Rosetta intel emulation software to get to the HP Uninstaller?

I get so far and then I get a "can't communicate with your printer" alert when I try to add it to my printer list. I don't get to the print test page stage. Still says it's a driver for 10.0, not 14.2 Monterey on MAC
