Microsoft Windows 11

I am trying to connect my hp 4502 touchscreen printer to my internet in order to do wireless printing. I own a newer router which doesn’t have a wpa/wep.  After selecting my network through the wireless setup wizard, I am given a prompt “enter wpa/wep”. This is where I’m stuck. I’ve scoured this forum and other forums for answers. A lot of suggestions pointed towards downloading the hp smart app and connecting the printer with the app itself. This also does not work. After selecting “add your first printer” on the app, it looks for devices on your devices’ connected internet, which your printer isn’t able to connect to in the first place. I am not sure of where to go from here. If anyone is able to help I’d be very thankful, as this problem is quite frustrating. Thanks!
