In order to be able to use the scan function in HP Smart (for my HP Deskjet Plus 6000), I cannot just use the App like other printers but have to register. Each time I attempt to do so, an error message comes up.
Session-id: S:42639aac11e81da736c941fddb7a1ae50e22beff
This really is a question for HP but there does not seem to be a function to be able to contact them on this matter.
Can anyone help?

Hi @CarlPhuket ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're facing an issue with the HP Smart app where it's requiring you to create an account to access the scan function for your HP DeskJet Plus 6000. The session ID error you're encountering indicates a problem during registration, which can sometimes occur due to several factors, such as server issues, network connectivity problems, or software bugs.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check Internet Connection
- Ensure your network connection is stable. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data or using another network to see if that allows you to complete the registration process.
2. Update the HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed. Sometimes, updating the app resolves server connection or registration issues.
3. Try a Different Device
- If you're using a computer, try creating the account on your mobile device (or vice versa) to see if the issue persists across devices.
4. Clear HP Smart App Cache (if on mobile)
- For Android: Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Storage > Clear Cache.
- For iOS: Uninstall and reinstall the app to clear its cache.
5. Create Account via Browser
- Try creating an HP account through a web browser instead of the app. Visit HP's sign-in page and create an account. Once done, return to the HP Smart app and log in with your newly created account.
6. Try a Different HP Account
- If possible, try using an existing HP account or creating a new one with a different email address. This can sometimes bypass account-related errors.
7. Temporarily Disable Firewalls or Antivirus (Windows/Mac only)
- Sometimes firewalls or antivirus software block certain app functions. Temporarily disable them and attempt to register again.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
