I'm trying to download firmware for HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer from https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-p1102-printer-series/4110394/model/.... The file downloads but when I try to execute it, I get this message:
HP LaserJet P1100/P1560/P1600 Series
X Cannot find a HP LaserJet P1100/P1560/P1600 Series printer installed on the system.

Hi @JayEvert
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Try connecting a USB cable from the printer to computer while downloading and installing the firmware.
If the issue still persists, download and install HP Print and Scan Doctor, it is a Windows tool to fix printer issues.
Also, try re-installing the printer driver -
1. In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2. Look for HP Printer software.
3. Right-click to uninstall.
4. In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.
5. In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6. Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7. Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8. Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9. Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10. Select Ok.
11. Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12. Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13. Restart the computer.
14. Download and install the software and drivers from here.
15. Click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Download and install the latest firmware from this link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I am trying to download just the firmware for the Laserjet P1102W printer. But when I try and download the firmware from the link 'https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL32489/bi-115794-3/LJP1100_P1560_P1600_FW_Upgrade_201808..." it downloads a 157mb file (NOT FIRMWARE) software installation and not a firmware updater.
Can you sort out the link on the website 'https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-p1102-printer-series/4110394/model/...' so that it download the firmware update only

@BTats, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
You are right, it downloads a firmware update assistant that checks the current firmware version on the printer and if required downloads the latest firmware.
This is the proper link to download the firmware. The size of the update assistant is 157 MB.
Let me know how this goes.

Hi,
The only thing it downloads for me is the FULL PRINTING SOLUTION, and NOT a Firmware Update Assistant. This file name might say 'LJP1100_P1560_P1600_FW_Upgrade_20180815' but the contents are 'LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution'
If it does like you say downloads the 'Firmware Update Assistant', then where does it install it? As I cannot find this application anywhere.

I downloaded the file onto my PC to check, and yes it downloaded only the full-featured driver but not the firmware update assistant. I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.
To assist you better, I need additional information. I have sent you a private message. Kindly check the same and revert.
