Hello there,
I have just recently bought a HP LaserJet Pro M180nw. downloaded the driver 'HP Easy Start' and the printer is working correctly. I have macos 10.11.6 I use a lot of adobe programs (Illustrator, photoshop etc..) After having read the user manual it recommends for users that print from adobe programs:
HP UPD PS driver ------
• Recommended for printing with Adobe® software programs or with other highly graphics-intensive software programs
• Provides support for printing from postscript emulation needs, or for postscript ashfont support
I have not found a way to download this driver and install it. On the hp UPD website, mac is not listed. And the only option I get in the printer page, under drivers is the 'HP Easy Start' which I have already installed. Where can I get this driver? So that I can use the PPD file when printing from Illustrator.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading.

The macOS driver for the HP LaserJet Pro M180nw is a PostScript (PS) driver so no need for a special PS driver.
The Universal Print Driver (UPD) is only available for Windows.

Thank you so much for your reply..
I understand. My question comes because when I try to print from Adobe Illustrator, and I select the printer, I am able to select the printer, but the option for selecting a PPD is greyed out. I am having problem from illustrator getting the correct width of the paper. I have tried many alternatives, but the paper in letter size, in print summary is stated wrongly as being 9'' instead of 8.5''. I have even made a custom size and still the same result, so part of the image is cut off. I think it has something to do with the PPD for the printer. Where in MACOS am I able to find the PPD that the printer uses so that I can put it in the PPD directory within the Illustrator application folder?
Many thanks,

As you are using macOS 10.11 I assume you are using an older version of Illustrator as well. I am not seeing the same behavior in Illustrator 2020 in Catalina, but unfortunately am unable to test 10.11 these days with Adobe apps.
So, I am not sure it's an issue with the PPD.
But to make sure it's the same version of PPD you can check the "driver version" in the Options tab after selecting the printer in Printers & Scanners.
You could also try setting the printer up with AirPrint and see if that resolves the issue.
