Have tried many fixes with no success.
I have an HP Envy 7855 printer, using a Dell desk top, OS is Windows 11.
This file: Hewlett-Packard - USB - 2/10/2017 12:00:00 AM - 44.1.2402.1741 keeps appearing when Windows Update searches. Yes, I have installed it a number of times. Same file keeps reappearing and pending download or downloading. Happens often. I have gone to the HP website and have uninstalled and reinstalled the HP driver numerous times. There is only one driver to choose from. Have tried numerous other fixes. Have talked to HP, Microsoft, and Dell. Everything is up-to-date. Read the suggestions online to try, too. Also, the printer will not work after this file Hewlett-Packard - USB - 2/10/2017 12:00:00 AM - 44.1.2402.1741 installs through Windows Update. When I look in print queue it says error. I run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and then the printer works fine. But then Windows Update wants to install that file again and I have to continue to run Scan Doctor when I want to print. Microsoft rep checked my computer and ended up telling me it is an HP problem. That Windows Update just gets the file from HP. They could not give me a solution other than shutting off updates to stop the file from showing up, but then I would be getting any updates. Had no problem until I upgraded to Windows 11 about 6 months ago or so. HELP!!! I'm tired of having to run HP Print and Scan Doctor whenever I want to print something. Need a solution or for HP to escalate the problem to a developer to see if they can fix the bug.

Hi:
There is a very easy way to prevent that update from ever showing up in Windows Update.
Download, unzip and run the Microsoft Hide Windows Update utility that I zipped up and attached below.
The application will run and find the offending Hewlett-Packard - USB - 2/10/2017 12:00:00 AM update.
Check the box to hide the update.
The utility will run and close indicating the problem was fixed.
Restart the PC and the update should not show up anymore.
You may have to run Windows update again to clear it out if it is showing up after you run the hide windows update utility.
