m182nw

I recently purchased an HP M182NW printer and I cannot setup the wireless networking.  It prompts be for a password that I don't seem to have.

I either need to know how to factory reset this thing without an admin password, or a way to find whatever the default would be for this device.  Very frustrating, as all I can do is print over USB when this thing has wifi capability 😞

Hi @ChrisClymer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

I see that you wanted to restore the factory-set defaults on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182nw.

Please follow the steps listed below:

1. On the printer control panel, press the Setup button(icon of a wrench)
2. Open the Service menu.
3. Select Restore Defaults.
The printer automatically restarts.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

The printer has a password set that prevents me going into the service menu.  There has to be way to still wipe it to the factory settings.
